Position: Technical Project Manager

Type: 12-Months Contract
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid: 2–3 days/week onsite)

Day to day:

• Chair and lead program-level meetings and governance sessions
• Serve as delegate for the Program Director in critical conversations and decisions
• Maintain and communicate executive-level dashboards and delivery KPIs
• Drive Agile squad performance across technical teams (Tech Leads, Developers, Testers)
• Consolidate delivery plans and dependencies across multiple workstreams
• Oversee coordination between internal teams and vendor resources (up to 50–60 people)
• Navigate cross-functional alignment across business units and technology
• Challenge vendors to ensure delivery accountability and risk mitigation
• Support system integration and cloud migration efforts
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory mandates
• Participate in talent planning and team-building efforts

Must haves:

• Experience with Thought Machine or similar platforms (Temenos, Finastra, etc.).
• Mandatory experience in retail or commercial banking transformation.
• Proven track record managing Agile squads and large-scale programs.
• Strong ability to challenge vendors and negotiate deliverables.
• Hands-on experience with complex integration projects.
• Ability to manage large teams (50–60 people) and influence senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive reporting.
• Comfortable making educated decisions on behalf of leadership.

• Previous experience with Canadian banking regulatory frameworks
• Experience leading PMO setup in banking programs
• Thought Machine implementation experience
• Cloud migration expertise (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience leading delivery across hybrid/remote squads

Salary and Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $75 - $80 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
