Pay Range: $40 to $45 an hour. (Negotiable)

Description:

This role supports the development of sterile liquid pharmaceutical products by executing formulation and manufacturing process development activities. The position focuses on generating high-quality experimental data to enable robust, scalable sterile liquid dosage forms. The scientist works independently and collaboratively to design, execute, and interpret laboratory studies. The role exists to ensure scientifically sound formulation development while maintaining data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related scientific discipline with 3–5 years of industry experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Hands-on experience with sterile liquid dosage forms (solutions, emulsions, suspensions)
  • Experience with sterilization techniques such as filtration and autoclaving
  • Strong experience with analytical and characterization testing (pH, osmolality, viscosity/rheology, turbidity, particle size)
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC or UPLC (UV, PDA, RI detectors)
  • Ability to independently design, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments
  • Experience with electronic laboratory notebooks and accurate technical documentation
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and basic statistical tools

Day to Day:

  • Conduct laboratory experiments supporting sterile liquid formulation and process development
  • Perform analytical and characterization testing to support development activities
  • Independently plan and execute lab-scale formulation and process studies
  • Analyze, interpret, and summarize experimental data using appropriate statistical methods
  • Accurately document experiments, results, and conclusions in electronic lab notebooks
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure operational readiness
  • Present data and participate in technical and project meetings
  • Follow internal procedures and applicable regulatory and safety requirements

Plusses:

  • Experience with rheology and advanced physical characterization techniques
  • Strong background in technical report writing
  • Prior experience supporting manufacturing scale-up activities
  • Familiarity with regulated pharmaceutical development environments.
