Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Trauma)

Length of Assignment: 13 weeks
Work Location: Rowlett, TX

Requirements

• Active RN license

• Specialty : Emergency Department - trauma center

• Certification/Degree Requirements: ACLS, BLS, TNCC (Mandatory), PALS/ENPC preferred

• Preferred: PALS or ENPC

Experience:

• 2+ years Emergency Department experience

• Trauma center experience strongly preferred

• Epic EMR experience highly preferred

Role Summary

• The Emergency Department RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for trauma and emergency patients.
   
• The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely, and effective patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment

• Deliver trauma and emergency nursing care in accordance with clinical standards and protocols

• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and recognize changes in condition

• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care and patient flow

• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions

• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR and ensure HIPAA compliance

• Delegate tasks appropriately and support team-based care
