PR: $35 - $40

Day to Day: 

• Advanced Sample Preparation: Execute precise metallographic techniques, including precision cutting, mounting, mechanical polishing, and chemical etching.
• Electrical Testing: Perform troubleshooting and basic testing of PCBs and electronic components using multi-meters, power supplies, and LCR meters.
• Micro-Sectioning & Assembly: Conduct detailed micro-sectioning of electronic packages and perform basic soldering/desoldering tasks.
• Chemical Management: Prepare and maintain chemical solutions and reagents while ensuring the strictly regulated handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Lab Operations & Maintenance: Manage equipment calibration, track supply inventory, and maintain a highly organized, clean, and safe laboratory environment.
• Process Documentation: Assist in developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the testing of hardware automation components and material systems.

Must haves: 

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering with 3+ years of experience (or an AA/GED with 5+ years of relevant experience).
• Lab Expertise: Proven experience working in a professional research or industrial laboratory setting with a strong grasp of lab safety and quality control.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to understand and apply mechanical principles to solve complex hardware problems.
• Material Science Knowledge: Solid understanding of the physical and chemical properties of metals, polymers, and composite materials.
• Communication & Organization: Excellent verbal and written communication skills paired with meticulous attention to detail and organizational habits.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 25 lbs as required by lab operations.
