Job Summary:
This role supports oncology discovery research through hands on mammalian cell culture work in a controlled laboratory setting. The Associate Scientist will contribute to drug discovery programs by expanding and maintaining engineered cancer cell lines. The position operates within a collaborative multidisciplinary research environment. The role requires strong laboratory discipline, documentation skills, and adaptability to changing research priorities. This opportunity offers exposure to early stage therapeutic development within a structured research facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, propagate, and expand multiple mammalian cell lines to support oncology research programs.
- Perform routine cell culture activities including passaging, monitoring growth rates, and maintaining cell health.
- Execute cryopreservation, storage, and inventory management of engineered cell line stocks.
- Evaluate engineered cell line characteristics and document experimental observations accurately.
- Support daily laboratory operations while adhering to safety, quality, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with cross functional research team members to meet project timelines and objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Biology or Bachelors degree in Biology with 3 to 5 years of laboratory experience.
- Extensive hands on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques.
- Strong understanding of cellular biology principles.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and standard biology laboratory procedures.
- Ability to independently conduct experiments and document results clearly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast paced lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a collaborative matrix based research environment.
- Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and automation platforms.
- Exposure to next generation sequencing technologies and library preparation workflows.
