Mission: To ensure accurate, compliant, and timely billing and collections in addition to helping patients and the organization achieve better financial outcomes.
Day-to-Day: Collabera is looking for a Patient Financial Services Specialist I to support the Patient Financial Services. This resource will handle day-to-day billing and insurance follow-up activities, including claim status checks, appeals, and account resolution across multiple payer types. The role focuses on accurate processing of patient accounts, reviewing insurance explanations of benefits, and resolving outstanding balances while maintaining HIPAA compliance. This person will work closely with the Patient Financial Services team and insurance carriers. They will report directly to HM while supporting timely and compliant revenue cycle operations.
Must-Haves:

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital billing and/or insurance collections

Experience with online insurance payer portals, insurance follow-up, appeals, and collections in a hospital setting
-
Familiarity with UB-04 and HCFA 1500 billing forms
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet production standards
Plusses:

Experience working with multiple payer types and financial classes
