Job Title: Venafi Engineer

Location: Denver, CO ; Chicago, IL
Work Arrangement: 5 day in office

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in PKI and Venafi to support enterprise-wide digital certificate lifecycle management. This role focuses on building, automating, and maintaining secure certificate operations across cloud and on-prem infrastructure, ensuring compliance, visibility, and protection against cyber threats.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, automation-driven, and comfortable designing and explaining custom scripts and solutions—not just operating existing tools.

• Design, build, and maintain ETL-style data pipelines integrating certificate lifecycle data from Venafi and other enterprise systems

• Support digital certificate lifecycle management across applications, middleware, printers, and network infrastructure

• Automate certificate provisioning, renewal, and compliance enforcement

• Engineer and support Venafi platform upgrades, backend architecture, and integrations

• Develop and maintain custom PowerShell automation for certificate and infrastructure workflows

• Integrate Venafi with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow via APIs

• Support event-driven and real-time processes using tools like Kafka

• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to reduce risk from malicious cyber attacks

• Ensure systems comply with architectural governance, standards, and security policies

• Support vendor applications and enterprise security tools

Contribute to hardening system boundaries and securing sensitive data across the enterprise

• Strong Venafi engineering experience (not just usage)

• In-depth PKI and Certificate Management expertise

• Hands-on experience with Venafi upgrades and backend architecture

• Advanced PowerShell scripting (custom automation, not just running scripts)

• Infrastructure engineering background

• Certificate Management in cloud environments (AWS & Azure)

• Windows Server & IIS administration

• Middleware experience

• Strong understanding of Cloud Security

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• 3–5+ years of Information Security / Infrastructure Engineering experience

Hourly Rate: 18$-20$ per hour 
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
