Job Title: Jr Linux System Administrator/ Linux System Administrator
Location: Annapolis, MD (Onsite / Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months Contract (Extension Possible)
Linux System Administrator Pay range: $50-$55HR
JR Linux System Administrator Pay range: $43-$45HR


We are seeking a Linux System Administrator to support and maintain core Linux systems within an on-premises bare-metal infrastructure. This role requires strong hands-on Linux experience, data center support, and collaboration with development and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support Linux servers in an on-premises, bare-metal environment
• Perform on-site data center tasks including racking, cabling, and system deployments
• Install, configure, upgrade, and support systems across global data centers
• Monitor daily operations, respond to incidents, and assist with root cause analysis (RCA)
• Support software development teams by administering tools and operational processes
• Assist in transitioning legacy infrastructure to next-generation platforms
• Conduct hardware and system security audits as required
  
  Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 1+ year of relevant experience OR
• 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  Strong hands-on experience with Linux CLI and troubleshooting tools
• Experience administering RHEL and Ubuntu environments
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (subnetting, firewalls, routing)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
