Job Summary:
The Microbiology Technician will support routine microbiological testing activities in a regulated pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing environment. This role focuses on bioburden testing endotoxin testing and environmental monitoring to support product and material release. The position requires strict adherence to GMP documentation and quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail the ability to execute methods independently and effective collaboration within a laboratory team. This is a hands on laboratory role supporting quality and compliance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform bioburden and endotoxin testing on bulk drug substances produced in the laboratory.
  • Conduct routine environmental monitoring of manufacturing and laboratory areas.
  • Execute microbiology assays including plate reading and data interpretation.
  • Follow approved test methods and standard operating procedures to support product and material release.
  • Maintain accurate complete and GMP compliant laboratory documentation.
  • Support deviation investigations corrective actions and procedural revisions as needed.
  • Adhere to safety quality and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to maintain a positive and compliant work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology Biology or related scientific discipline with relevant laboratory experience or Master’s degree in a life sciences discipline with relevant laboratory experience.
  • Hands on experience performing GMP microbiology testing including bioburden endotoxin and
  • environmental monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of GMP documentation practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting product release testing in a QC or QA laboratory environment.
  • Ability to independently perform laboratory techniques with minimal error in a regulated setting.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in pharmaceutical biologics or biomanufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with laboratory systems such as Empower ERP system and Veeva.
