About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Tester with strong experience in RPG and AS400 environments to support testing and delivery of high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring applications meet both functional and non-functional requirements while collaborating closely with development and Agile teams.

This is a hands-on testing role requiring strong analytical skills and experience in legacy systems, particularly within the payments or banking domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and validate software to ensure business and technical requirements are met
• Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements
• Define and execute manual and automated test cases
• Participate in test planning activities within Agile/Scrum environments
• Build test cases for sprint stories based on acceptance criteria
• Review test cases and update them as required
• Create and manage test data for execution
• Execute manual and automated test suites and record results
• Identify, document, and report defects with appropriate supporting details
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve defects
• Ensure traceability between test cases and requirements
• Follow established QA processes and utilize appropriate testing tools

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience testing applications developed in RPG III to ILE RPG
• Strong knowledge of AS400 Control Language (CL)
• Good knowledge of Query/400 and Web Query
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Hands-on experience with Jira
• Strong analytical and multitasking skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in the Global Payments or Banking domain
• Knowledge of API Testing
• Familiarity with ISO messaging standards
• Experience with MQ (Message Queues)
• Knowledge of ACH, Wire Payments, Direct Deposit, or related payment systems
• RPG LE experience

Preferred Background:

• Experience in payments processing, financial services, or banking environments
• Ability to work independently as an individual contributor
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
