Title: Optical Network Engineer 

Location: Seattle, WA 

Duration: 12 months 

Pay rate: $65-70/hr 

Hiring for a Optical Network Engineer role with expertise in DWDM/Optical Network Systems

Should have a minimum of 5-8 years industry experience. Excellent network experience with the rollout of large DWDM networks and Optical network technologies, and experience with optical planning and modelling tools

Top 3 must have skills:

1. DWDM/Optical Network Systems Experience - Direct hands-on experience deploying and operating high-capacity DWDM systems is non-negotiable given the scale and the critical nature of interconnecting AWS data centers globally.
2. Network Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving - The ability to diagnose and resolve Optical DWDM network issues is essential for maintaining the high availability and reliability that AWS customers demand, especially given the operational on-call responsibilities.
3. Project Management/Time Management - Strong organizational skills help contractors balance multiple responsibilities across product development, operations, and strategic initiatives, though this can be developed with team support.
