What is the project/ initiative they will be supporting? 

• Deployment engineers in Front office space.
• Supporting Fund Management -- Investment Platforms in Global Asset Management
• Creating custom applications that support investment research and portfolio analytics

What are they expected to accomplish on a high level?

• Hands on development (new and existing applications)
• Front office engineering - applications for front office partners built in house
• Partnering with front office teams (25 globally) 
• Working directly with traders
• Relationship focused role - must present well.

Day to day what are the responsibilities?

• Presentation, in office - dressing professionally
  Working directly with traders
• Business meetings
• Support various investment teams as a member of the Portfolio Engineering developer squad
• Develop and contribute to new and existing in-house applications using Python, .NET Core, SQL, and various front-end frameworks
• Build production-grade ETL pipelines, backend APIs, Python libraries, and web applications

Must-haves/key skills needed :

• Presentation skills, meeting with key business stakeholders and traders, professionalism, communication skills.
• There is no tolerance for missing a meeting, rescheduling or being late to a meeting on this team
• Full Stack Developer : Eagerness to develop is more important than years of experience 
• Coding from scratch in Python ,frameworks such as FastAPI, Dash, and Pandas
  Front end:  TypeScript, Angular and other front-end frameworks
  70% Front end / 30% backend (APIs, CICD pipeline, Airflow)
  Front office facing - Excellent communication and presentation, being in office is key
• Work closely with traders, analysts, and portfolio managers to understand what tools they need.

Nice to Haves:

• Python Private cloud (OpenShift) - Prior banking is preferred.
  Experience with Apache Airflow workflow automation for ETL
• Experience with cloud-native software development, especially microservice architecture, Docker, and Oauth
• SQL skills for data modeling, constructing complex queries, and performance optimization
• Background in investment/trading industry, especially through experience in asset management or capital markets - trading, portfolios, or capital markets work is helpful.
• Strong communication skills, curiosity, and sense of empathy to effectively collaborate with investment professionals
