Job Title: SQL Server DBA

Location: Chandler, AZ
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Client Industry: Financial Services
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Schedule: Standard time ( 8 AM to 5 PM Arizona Time)

Day to Day: 

• Design, develop, and implement complex SQL Server database solutions
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SQL Server environments
• Lead and support SQL Server migrations (2016 → 2022)
• Perform advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting using tools such as Query Store
• Manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On, replication, etc.)
• Support business-critical applications across multiple enterprise domains
• Handle BAU support + project-based work simultaneously
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders
• Proactively monitor and maintain database stability and performance

• 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
• Strong expertise in SQL Server (2012–2022 preferred)
• Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting experience
• Hands-on experience with Always On and high availability solutions
• Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Experience using Query Store for performance optimization
• Familiarity with SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSDS)
• Experience supporting high-volume enterprise production environments
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

• Experience working in Linux environments
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace
• Exposure to additional technologies like Redis and TigerGraph
• Experience with other relational database management systems
• Background supporting large-scale migrations and modernization efforts

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $60 - $65 per hour
  This reflects base compensation and may vary based on candidate qualifications.
