Job Description

Product Development Science and Technology (PDS&T) is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven scientist with knowledge and experience in aseptic filling of parenteral products, process development, commercial site scale-up, and technology transfers. The candidate is expected to be familiar with and comply with regulatory standards within pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
The candidate will independently design and execute laboratory studies to develop robust manufacturing processes for clinical phase and commercial products. This individual will generate and analyze precise, reliable, and reproducible data in a timely manner, independently or under the direction of a more senior scientific leader. This position will be an integral part of the product development and CMC teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support laboratory studies for process development and technology transfer of parenteral drug products (including synthetic molecules and biologics such as antibody drug conjugates)
  • Design and execute lab studies evaluating chemical and physical stability of biologics under solution conditions and manufacturing stresses (freeze-thaw, mixing, filtration, filling, and lyophilization)
  • Develop robust dosage forms and manufacturing processes
  • Design, execute, and interpret critical experiments to address scientific questions
  • Understand project objectives and adapt experimental plans as needed
  • Interpret results from multistage experiments, identify deviations, and design follow-up studies
  • Set and meet experimental timelines
  • Organize and present scientific plans and data effectively
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with typically 7+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or PhD with 0+ years of experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
  • Experience in a laboratory environment within pharmaceutical manufacturing or process development
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and interpret critical experiments
  • Ability to learn, understand, and master new experimental techniques
  • Experience interpreting results from multistage experiments and designing subsequent studies
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for injectable products
  • Strong scientific writing and verbal communication skills
