Position: Android Software Developer
Industry: Hospitality
Type: 12 months contract
Location: Memphis, TN / McLean, VA / Dallas, TX (open to hybrid)
Interview/Submission Process: 1 AI interview with Collabera -> 1 virtual meeting with Collabera's account manager -> 2 virtual rounds with client

Day to day:

• Build and enhance Android features for a? mobile app + Connected Room platform
• Integrate mobile applications with IoT devices (TVs, thermostats, in-room tech)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, backend, hardware engineers)
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code with strong testing coverage
• Participate in architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions

Must haves:

• 7-10+ years of Android development experience (hands-on, production-level apps)
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11) and Android SDK
• Experience building modern apps using Android Jetpack
• Background working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban) ideally in an enterprise environment
• Experience with testing practices (TDD, Cucumber or similar, mocking frameworks)

• Experience with IoT integrations or WebSocket-based communication
• Exposure to Android Leanback (TV) development
• Experience building Java microservices (Spring Boot)
• Prior work on connected devices, smart home, or hospitality tech
• Experience working on large-scale, consumer-facing applications

Salary and Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $50 - $55 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
