Title: Senior Business Analyst (Capital Markets and Trading)
Duration: 12+ months (Contract), Possibility of Extension
Location: Toronto - Hybrid
Pay Rate Range: $80/hr - $98/hr

About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support a front-office trading platform within a leading institutional asset management environment. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, working closely with traders, portfolio managers, and engineering teams to enhance trading workflows and platform capabilities.

This is a high-visibility role requiring strong capital markets expertise, particularly across the trade lifecycle and front-office trading systems (OMS/EMS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with traders and portfolio managers to gather and define business requirements.
• Analyze and document end-to-end trading workflows across the trade lifecycle.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, BRDs, and test plans.
• Support enhancements across order management, execution, allocation, and settlement.
• Facilitate collaboration between front office, operations, and technology teams.
• Support UAT, system validation, and production releases.
• Ensure alignment between trading strategies and platform capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in capital markets
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle
• Hands-on experience with OMS/EMS trading platforms (e.g., Dash, Charles River, Aladdin, Fidessa)
• Experience working in front-office trading environments
• Knowledge of equities, FX, and derivatives markets
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, BRDs, and UAT support

Nice to Have:

• Excellent communication skills with ability to work directly with traders
• Experience with FIX protocol and market connectivity
• Knowledge of synthetic products, swaps, or money market instruments
• Exposure to SQL, Python, or scripting
• Experience in buy-side asset management environments
