Title: Business Analyst - Product Forward
Location: Chicago , IL
Duration: 6-month contract (strong extension potential)
Pay Range: $55-60 per hour
Mission: This role will serve as a BA embedded within a product management team, helping define workflows, build out user stories, and support the evolution of hotel colleague-facing digital products.
Day-to-Day: We are looking for a Business Analyst who will sit within a product management-oriented team working on a multi-year colleague experience transformation. This individual will help define workflows, write and refine user stories, and participate in UAT testing. They will be embedded in agile ceremonies - sprint cycles, scrums, and planning sessions - and will work cross-functionally with operations and technology stakeholders. Tools used include Jira, Confluence, Airtable, Mural, Figma, and Smartsheet. This person will need to observe a team's way of working, offer thoughtful opinions, and navigate ambiguity with a flexible, solutions-oriented mindset. Strong presentation skills are preferred as this role interacts with end users.
Must Haves:
- 5–7 years of Business Analyst experience within a mature digital product organization
- Experience working in a product management lens - writing user stories, defining workflows, supporting UAT
- Familiarity with agile methodologies - scrum ceremonies, sprint cycles, backlog management
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Airtable, Mural, and Smartsheet
- Experience using Figma for design collaboration
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to observe team ways of working and provide structured, actionable feedback and comfortable navigating uncertainty and change
Plusses:
- Hospitality industry experience
- Experience on products with significant operational impact
- Operations background with a transition into product/BA space
