Title: Data Engineer
Location: Houston, TX 77056 (3x on site/2x remote)
Duration: 3-4 Month CTH
Pay Range: $55-60 per hour
Why this is open:
MDP project: The goal is to ingest market data about meters. They are making a datalike for service points via EDI files (Different sources of data), organizing into MDP (Meter Data Platform). Medallion architecture (Bronze, silver, gold). They are building off of a framework that France team shared with them. They want more flows for each market (each data source is it's own flow). They are starting with ERCOT then starting MGM. Going through the list so need someone who starts.
Must haves
-
3-6 years of experience with Data Engineer
- Must have 2+ years of experience with AWS tools including Lambda Functions, SQS (queuing service), AWS Glue, S3 buckets
- Not real time data needed for this, it's batch data
- Must be comfortable with big data concepts of bucketing, indexing, query optimization
- Must be a self starter, figure things out
- Must have experience with Databricks medallion architecture & pySpark
- Strong SQL experience
- Must be strong in Python for running jobs
- Strong OOP/object oriented programming

Must have experience leveraging Terraform for deployments/ IaaC
- Git for branches & version control
- Experience with APIs integrations

Knowledge of data structures and data modelling
