Role:Substation Design Engineer

Location: Concord, CA - 94520

Salary Range: $160K - $180K/Annum

• Day to Day/Overview
• Looking for someone with in depth experience designing for large utility companies.
• Someone intermediate to senior level and does design work for  projects. Expertise in Design, not construction
• Hands on experience with design of 230-345 kV substations 
• Travel in U.S. to job sites (~20% travel)
• Primary Physical Design Engineer, not someone in protection control
• Someone who has worked at an engineering consultant firm
   
   
   
  MUST HAVES

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (BSEE preferred)

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering for electric utilities
   
• Specifically renewable energy power plants
• Professional Engineering (P.E) license in the United States (or demonstrating his/her plan to get PE license within a certain period)
   
• Willing to review and seal your work and the work of others under your supervision.
• Projects experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation type applications, including primary (outdoor) physical substation design and required studies.
• Hands-on experience in producing:
• Power single line drawing
•  
  Substation plan and elevation drawing
• General substation arrangement and layout
• Equipment erection drawings
• Construction details
• Layouts for high voltage bus/equipment, conduit, cable, wiring, auxiliary power, grounding, and control building layouts.
• In depth experience applying High Voltage substation North American standards & guidelines
   
• IEEE & ANSI standards and codes such as the NEC and the NESC
• Local Grid Codes
• Related equipment (safety, application, sizing and integration).
• Expeirence with both AIS/GIS
