Location: Pasadena, TX (Greater Houston Area)

Schedule: Monday – Thursday (4/10 Schedule)
Travel: ~40% (Company vehicle provided; all travel expenses covered)
Compensation: $42 – $50 per hour (Overtime Eligible)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician / Specialist to support inspection, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire protection and life safety systems in high-risk industrial environments. This role requires a strong balance of electrical expertise and mechanical understanding, along with the ability to work independently and lead in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot fire alarm and gas detection systems
- Finalize system preparation and readiness for official commissioning
- Manage CO2 system integration and skid-mounted unit requirements
- Execute full system installations with corporate technical support
- Handle service calls, troubleshooting, and minor equipment adjustments
- Act as a technical consultant for third-party contractors (piping/system integration)
- Serve as final sign-off authority for customer approval and certification
- Ensure all safety documentation and compliance paperwork is completed accurately
- Maintain company vehicle and ensure readiness for field operations
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in fire alarm and life safety systems
- Strong electrical expertise (wiring, circuitry, troubleshooting)
- Working knowledge of mechanical integration of fire suppression systems
- Experience with fire & gas detection systems in industrial environments
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead field decisions
- Valid TWIC Card (required for access to secure facilities)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Fire Alarm License
- Fire Extinguisher License
- NICET Certification (Fire Suppression / Special Hazards)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Notifier, Det-Tronics, Marioff (water mist) systems
- Familiarity with EST (Edwards) and Siemens fire alarm panels
- Petrochemical, refinery, or oil & gas industry background
- NICET Certification in Sprinkler Systems (plus)
- Manufacturer training certifications and formal electrical licensing
- Strong understanding of HSE/safety protocols in high-hazard environments
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Associate degree in a technical or scientific field (preferred)
