Job Title - Sr. Category Manager - Sales 

Location - Houston, TX 77056 (Hybrid) 

Job Type – Full-Time 

Salary - $145K Per Annum

The current team lacks deep expertise in this specific industry niche. This is a rapidly growing space that shifted significantly two years ago due to Data Center demand; it is now booming, and we need a leader who can adapt to the market. We are looking for someone with a dedicated learning mindset who can build and execute the category strategy from the ground up. 

  

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

  • Working with best-in-class power generation batteries and supercapacitors. 
  • This role involves sales and business development, but on "Williams' terms"—you are selling the partnership to the vendors. 
  • Cold-calling vendors and pitching why they should do business with Williams. You will be managing roughly 50 different vendor relationships. 
  • We need a self-driven hunter who can uncover the information they need and essentially "create the world they are living in." This is a true HUNTER role. 
  • Deep dive into how batteries are used and implemented. Backgrounds in Tesla, solar companies, or battery storage are ideal. We are open to various battery experiences but prefer a specific focus on power generation. 
  • Organizing and managing 12 different programs simultaneously. This role offers high exposure and involves high-dollar contracts. 

  

Required Experience & Qualifications: 

  • 7–10 years of applicable knowledge in the electrical industry, with a specific focus on battery technology and equipment. 
  • Deep understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). 
  • Ability to communicate effectively regarding the "commercial side" of equipment—pricing, supply chain, market application, and lifecycle—without requiring an engineering background. 
  • Proven ability to cold-call and network to uncover proprietary market information and technological trends. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; must be able to hold high-level discussions with vendors and executive stakeholders. 
  • A proven track record of understanding the electrical industry landscape and anticipating where the market is moving. 
  • Ability to perform in high-exposure environments and manage effectively in high-pressure or "tough" working situations.
