About the Role

  • The Analyst – Worldwide Compliance position is part of the Global Consumer Products Business Operations department.
  • This role involves ensuring compliance with royalty agreements and managing cash collections.
  • The Analyst will work closely with internal teams, licensees, and finance departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Royalty Compliance - Review contracts for financial terms and verify compliance with royalty statements.
  • Trace financials throughout a contract’s lifecycle to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Advise internal teams on correcting entry errors that hinder statement processing.  
  • Guide licensees on resubmitting statements with errors.
  • Troubleshoot access issues for licensees unable to access the system.
  • Address inquiries from Finance and offshore royalty reporting teams.
  • Complete special projects and provide management reporting as needed.

Cash Collections/Compliance:

  • Contact licensees to resolve open accounts receivable balances and royalty compliance issues. - Maintain collection reason codes to accurately reflect the status of open receivables.
  • Monitor expected cash from licenses to ensure timely receipt.
  • Manage ad-hoc requests related to invoice account balances.
  • Serve as the point person for withholding tax certificates.
  • Assist the cash application team in resolving unapplied payments.
  • Support the Sales Team and Finance Department as needed.
  • Participate actively in the month-end close process.

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of General Accounting Principles; knowledge of royalty accounting is a plus.  Ability to trace issues to their root cause and understand their final impact.
  • Proficiency in understanding and interpreting contracts.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture and work on cross-divisional projects.
  • Ability to multitask and manage diverse projects and assignments.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively as both a leader and team player.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the global licensing industry.
  • Preferred experience in operations finance, accounting, and operations management.
