About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join a high-performing team supporting multiple mission-critical enterprise applications. This is a high-impact role focused on database performance, stability, and modernization initiatives, including large-scale SQL Server migrations. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement complex SQL Server database solutions
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SQL Server environments
- Lead and support SQL Server migrations (2016 → 2022)
- Perform advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting (Query Store, indexing, execution plans)
- Manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions (Always On, replication, backups)
- Support business-critical applications across multiple enterprise domains
- Handle both production support (BAU) and project-based initiatives
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support when needed
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams
- Proactively monitor and optimize database performance and reliability
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
- Strong expertise in SQL Server (2012–2022)
- Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting experience
- Hands-on experience with Always On / High Availability solutions
- Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Experience with Query Store for performance optimization
- Familiarity with SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSDS)
- Experience supporting high-volume, enterprise production environments
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $60 – $65 per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
