Job Title: Oracle PL/SQL Developer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Work Arrangement: hybrid

Duration: 12 Months Contract
Schedule: Standard time ( 8 AM - 5 PM EST)
Day To Day Responsbilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL code including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers to support business applications.
- Write complex, optimized SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, and backend processing needs.
- Perform performance tuning of SQL queries and PL/SQL programs using: Index optimization Query rewriting Execution plan analysis
- Use of hints and partitioning strategies Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement fixes to ensure high system performance and stability.
- Work closely with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions.
- Develop and maintain data models, ensuring proper normalization, relationships, and data integrity constraints.
- Build and support ETL processes for data migration, transformation, and integration between systems.
- Write and maintain shell scripts (Unix/Linux) for job automation, scheduling, and batch processing.
- Monitor database jobs, debug failures, and ensure smooth execution of scheduled processes.
- Use tools like SQL Developer / TOAD for development, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Support release deployments, including database changes, scripts, and rollback strategies.
- Maintain proper documentation for database objects, processes, and workflows.
Must Have:
- Strong experience in Oracle PL/SQL development
- Excellent hands-on experience with Oracle SQL
- Expertise in performance tuning (indexes, hints, partitioning)
- Experience with stored procedures, triggers, and packages Strong understanding of relational database concepts
- Experience with data modeling and normalization
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting
- Experience using SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar tools Knowledge of ETL processes is a plus
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $60 - $65 per hour
This reflects base compensation and may vary based on candidate qualifications.
