Position Details:
Client: Medical Devices Company
Position Title: Associate I Payroll
Duration: 12 months (Possible extension)/ 03 months (Possible extension)
Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 or St. Paul, MN 55442 (Onsite)
Pay Range: $20/hr to $25/hr

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of regular payroll cycles.
  • Process new hires, terminations, pay changes, garnishments, and benefit deductions.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policy and retention requirements.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor's degree to be considered for full-time opportunities.
  • 3 years of payroll experience.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll processes, wage and hour laws, and payroll taxes.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (Workday and Kronos is a plus), MS Suites,
  • Proficient with Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Job Description:
We need candidates specializing in "backend" payroll or after payroll has been processed. This position is looking for candidates that have strong payroll tax processing experience.

Skills:

  • Previous work with state agencies
  • Work on tax notices, work with tax providers, power of attorneys, and 3rd party authorizations
  • Has multi-state tax experience
  • MS Office Suites (Excel)
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring all aspects of the project are thoroughly considered and executed

Education:
High school with at least 2-3 years payroll tax experience

Required:

  • Solid foundation of payroll taxes- federal, state and Fica taxes
  • Tax filing exp- payroll tax filing
  • Attention to detail
  • Fast paced
  • Project exp- testing exp
