Engagement type: 6 month contract that will be converted to FTE

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will develop detailed mechanical construction documents using Revit, focusing on HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, hydronic systems, and exhaust systems for both general and process applications.
  • You will collaborate with senior engineers and other disciplines to coordinate designs, ensuring all technical requirements, constructability considerations, and project timelines are met.
  • You will be responsible for laying out mechanical equipment with proper access, maintenance clearances, and installation sequencing, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date equipment schedules derived from Revit models.
  • The role also involves producing process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), supporting field activities such as site walks, punch lists, and as-built documentation, and proactively resolving design conflicts through coordination and creative problem-solving.
  • Success in this position requires strong communication, the ability to manage competing deadlines, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, constructible designs.

 Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience designing HVAC/mechanical systems using Revit (ductwork and piping required)
  • Proficiency in:
    • Revit
    • AutoCAD
  • Experience with load calculations, duct sizing, and pipe sizing preferred
  • Familiarity with mechanical calculations such as:
    • Duct static pressure drop
    • Pump head calculations
    • NPSHa
  • Working knowledge of:
    • International Mechanical Code (IMC)
    • SMACNA duct construction standards
    • ASHRAE 62 & 90.1
  • Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license within 1–2 years preferred
  • Exposure to Plumbing and/or Fire Protection design is a plus

Experience

  • Background supporting commercial and/or industrial construction projects
  • Experience with the following project types is a plus:
    • Mission-critical / data centers
    • Biotech or pharmaceutical facilities
    • Semiconductor manufacturing environments
