On-site technical supervision of earthworks activities

Soil and/or rock excavations support

Implementation of engineering specification and drawing requirements for earthworks, soil excavation support, etc.

Preparing or checking technical memos, reports, etc.

Review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design solution.

Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.

Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.

An M.S. degree in Geotechnical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with 11 years of progressive related experience in the field.

Advanced knowledge of earthworks with an emphasis in cold weather earth work best practices.

Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Advanced knowledge of site and subsurface investigation, foundation design and analysis, earthwork designs, soil and/or rock slope stability analysis.

Knowledge of industry guides, codes, and standards.

Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Experience with geotechnical software such as Slope/W, Plaxis, etc., MS office programs, and other common computer programs.

Demonstrable previous experience working on earthworks for a large-scale project

Registered Geotechnical Professional Engineer (P.E.) or equivalent.

Related experience in geotechnics applied to earthworks design and construction.
