About the Role
- This position involves designing, developing, and reviewing all database changes within a banking environment.
- As a Database Engineer, you will apply industry-accepted design and development practices to perform all database-related changes, including database design, normalization, and SQL/PL-SQL development using Agile Methodology.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop database solutions using Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
- Review and implement database changes to support business requirements.
- Perform database normalization and design.
- Utilize Agile Methodology for database development.
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database integrity and security.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Required Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in the latest Oracle Database version.
- Proficiency in TOAD and similar database tools.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Strong experience in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Proven experience in database design and data modeling, including ER diagrams and normalization.
- Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, memory structure, and background processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
- Hands-on experience in performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and the use of AWR, ASH, and Explain Plan.
Desired Skills
- Experience working in the financial domain.
- Knowledge of shell scripting and Python for automating database tasks.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GIT, and Datical.
- Exposure to MS SQL Server and MongoDB.
- Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance standards.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $60 - $65 per hour
This reflects base compensation and may vary based on candidate qualifications.
