Job Title: Team Lead Reliability Engineer

Location: Boston MA

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Client Industry: Manufacturing Client

Duration: 6+ months contract

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Must-Haves:

• RAM Expertise: Deep subject matter expertise in Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) engineering.
• FMEA Proficiency: Strong experience in executing sFMEA and dFMEA methodologies.
• Technical Toolset: Proficiency with reliability modeling software (e.g., ReliaSoft) and familiarity with PLM systems.
• Advanced Testing Experience: Proven background in designing and conducting ALT and HALT.
• Requirements Management: Ability to define and manage system-level reliability requirements within a formal management system.
• Collaborative Leadership: Ability to work onsite in Massachusetts and collaborate daily with cross-functional Tech Leads and Hardware Engineers.

Day To Day:

• Direct Program Support: Integrate with Tech Leads and Hardware Design Engineers (ME/EE) to support multiple active programs, including robotic systems and semi-automated packaging solutions.
• RAM Modeling & Allocation: Translate down-selected designs into reliability models using software like ReliaSoft, establishing MTBF and Availability allocations at the component and sub-assembly levels.
• Risk Mitigation: Lead and execute various FMEA methodologies (Solution, System, and Design) to identify and address high-risk components and RAM risks across integrated systems.
• Physical Testing & Assessment: Design and execute Accelerated Life-cycle Testing (ALT) and Highly Accelerated Life-cycle Testing (HALT) to validate the reliability of high-risk components.
• Lifecycle Planning: Collaborate with Supply Chain to develop Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL) and identify Field Replaceable Units (FRU) to ensure long-term equipment uptime.
• Knowledge Transfer: Actively mentor internal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers in Reliability Engineering practices to build long-term organizational capability.

Nice to Have:

• Industry Context: Previous experience working in manufacturing or automation environments.
• Maintenance Modeling: Experience quantifying annualized technician labor hours for reactive and preventative maintenance (RME Labor Hour Assessment).
• Complex Systems Experience: Background specifically in robotic trailer offloading or automated inventory processing systems.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $80 to 90per hour
• This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
