Why is this open? 

This position is open due to increased demand for large-scale data center builds across North America. The client is expanding their supply chain team to support the management of subcontracts, negotiations, and mission-critical infrastructure projects tied to ongoing data center growth. 

MISSION 

The Supply Chain Subcontracts Manager will manage all subcontracts in relation to the build and handle negotiation for mission-critical data center facilities.  

DAY TO DAY 

Bid Phase Support 

  • Collaborate with Proposal & Construction teams to identify subcontracting needs and suppliers during bid preparation; 
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders, prepare subcontracting strategies, cost estimates, and risk assessments for inclusion in bids; 
  • Evaluate potential subcontractors and assist in prequalification processes. 

 

Contract Development & Negotiation 

  • In collaboration with Proposal & Construction teams; 
  • Draft, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements ensuring compliance with project requirements and legal standards; 
  • Define scope of work, deliverables, and performance metrics for subcontractors; 
  • Secure favorable terms and conditions while mitigating risk exposure. 

 

Contract Administration & Compliance 

  • Maintain accurate records of all subcontract agreements and amendments; 
  • Monitor subcontractor performance against contractual obligations, schedule, and quality standards; 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. 

 

Claims & Dispute Management 

  • Identify potential claims early and implement strategies to mitigate disputes; 
  • Manage resolution of subcontractor claims, variations, and disputes in collaboration with legal and project teams; 
  • Prepare documentation and support negotiations or arbitration as required. 

 

Risk & Change Management 

  • Assess contractual risks and develop mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle; 
  • Manage change orders and ensure timely incorporation into subcontract agreements; 
  • Communicate impacts of changes on cost, schedule, and scope to stakeholders. 

MUST HAVES 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; 
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in subcontract management within construction or EPC projects; 
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and risk management principles; 
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; 
  • Proficiency in contract management systems and MS Office Suite; 
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment; 
  • Established project management skills;
