• The Land Surveying Field Technician (Survey Aide) performs various survey activities to efficiently support the survey crew/team.
• Moves, places and holds range poles, level rods or other surveying equipment.
• Sets (hammers into the ground) various stakes, iron rods hubs, etc.
• Cleans, maintains, and stocks survey vehicle with supplies needed to perform daily tasks.
• Assists Survey Instrument Technician to locate facilities using a total station, sub-surface locating devices, global positioning equipment, levels, etc.
• Maintains, cleans and adjusts equipment to ensure that required accuracy can be obtained.
• Coordinates activities and maintains communications between crew/team members and chief.
