Job Title: Drone Operator/ Support Engineer

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Duration: 6 months

Strat: ASAP

Pay Range: $35 - $$40/hr

Drone Operator Role
  • This position is searching for a skilled Part107 certified operator with extensive experience operating drones via a remote control.
  • The qualified candidate will act as an operations specialist assisting in the development and test of cutting-edge safety related technologies. The role includes mission planning and lightweight maintenance duties.
  • The candidate should demonstrate attention to detail, a safety-oriented attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for cutting-edge technology. This individual will also conduct operation readiness activities and logistics planning as needed.
  • The candidate will join a Research and Development team working on inventing and developing new transformative experiences.
 
Day to Day:
  • Remote control drone piloting
  • Data Collection
  • Working a night shift- 3 pm-11:30 pm
  • Drive to offsite work locations daily (work vehicle will be provided).
  • Work variable shifts and schedules including weekends when applicable. Schedule changes frequently depending on certain daylight conditions.
  • Overtime may be required and approved based off of work assignment/deliverables.
  • Mission planning, lightweight maintenance duties.
Must Haves:
  • 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
  • 2+ years of commercial drone piloting experience (bigger commercial drones).
  • Strong pre-flight planning process
  • Employees must, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to lift up to 50 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Experience with commercial UAS industry
  • Aviation safety experience as a Safety Officer or similar
  • Needs more than just DJI, remote control airplanes would work too
  • Must be able to fly in manual mode- specifically no GPS
  • Must have professional experience flying drones, no less than 50 hours logged flight time
