Locations: Chandler, AZ (Preferred) | Des Moines, IA
Schedule: Day Shift – Supporting Production Operations (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM PST Coverage) Standard 8-hour workday with flexibility on start times.
Payrate: $55-61/hr
Duration: 12-24 Months
About the Role
- We are seeking experienced Mainframe Production Support Engineers to join a critical production support team responsible for supporting enterprise applications in a highly specialized mainframe environment. This role focuses on maintaining application stability, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring uninterrupted business operations across Automated Credit, Rewards, and Credit Card Hub platforms.
- The team operates in a follow-the-sun support model, partnering closely with offshore resources to provide continuous coverage and seamless handoffs.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2 and L3 production support for business-critical mainframe applications.
- Monitor application performance, system health, and production processing activities.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve failed batch jobs and production incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
- Execute and support ad hoc production jobs as required.
- Partner with Production Control teams to restart, recover, and validate failed processing.
- Respond to business user inquiries and support requests in a timely manner.
- Track, document, and manage incidents, problems, and service requests.
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and operational procedures.
- Create and manage follow-up tasks and enhancement requests through ticketing systems.
- Participate in daily production support handoffs and coordination with offshore teams.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance production stability and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in Mainframe Production Support and Application Support environments.
- Hands-on experience with:
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- COBOL
- CICS
- DB2
- CA7
- IDCAMS
- Mainview
- Experience troubleshooting production incidents and batch processing failures.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical production systems.
- Familiarity with incident and change management processes.
- Experience using tools such as:
- ServiceNow
- JIRA
- Confluence
- Similar ticketing and documentation platforms
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with: File Manager, File Analyzer , EZTRIEV
- Financial services, banking, credit card, or rewards platform experience.
- Experience working within a global support organization and follow-the-sun operating model.
- Ability to work independently in a highly specialized production environment.
