DayToDay Responsbilities:

  • Participate and establish technical rules and procedures for spectrum coordination with other licensees and spectrum sharing with federal agencies.  
  • Determine equipment and power configurations 
  • Work with eNB/RAN and UE teams on RF solutions including modifications to RF link budgets on a per site level basis to meet operations requirements 
  • Perform site candidate evaluation and selection as well as site walks 
  • Work with RF Management to establish design criteria, link budget and traffic analysis as needed for network design and update existing performance parameters for ongoing improvements as required 
  • Coordinate cell site call testing and optimization drive activities and troubleshoot cell site issues as they impede signing off on all tests passing in the market 

Must Have:

  • 3+ years experience Spectrum (or Frequency) planning and management  
  • Have a minimum of 3-year experience in the last 7 years working as frequency/capacity/spectrum planner for a major wireless carrier in the US 
  • Have interference hunting and mitigation knowledge and experience. 
  • 4G/5G Proficiency  
  • Strong technical background and understanding of RF design principles  
  • BSEE/BSCS degree and/or bachelor’s degree   
  • Experience with macro/small cell nominal and final RF designs including development, operations, RF KPIs, and maintenance of RF link budgets  
  • Full proficiency in setting up, calibration, utilization and data processing of various LTE design and optimization equipment and software 

NiceToHave:

  • Windcatcher/Actix/Accuver experience  
  • NR theory experience 
  • Experience with GreenField or GF (this is the primary Network this team uses) 
  • Experience with model calibrations 
  • Experience with various planning tools such as Atoll
