Job Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conducts chemical and physical laboratory experiments following established protocols.
• Protocol execution includes the following: instrument setup; bench level manipulation of active pharmaceutical agents; qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Must possess diploma or degree at the Associate or Bachelor level and 1+ years experience in a laboratory setting.

• Associates/BS/MS in chemistry, engineering, or other science related fields

• Some professional experience outside of school would be preferred, but not required.
• Some familiarity with organic chemistry and the ability to identify common functional groups.

What is the environment that this person will be working in (i.e. group setting vs individual role)?

• Role requires individual contributions in a small team setting. Support and guidance will be provided by team members in real time, as necessary.

What positions/background experience do you feel are successful in this role.

• General chemistry, some organic chemistry and analytical chemistry
  Successful candidate will perform routine laboratory activities with active pharmaceutical compounds including physicochemical characterization, formulation, analytical analysis, and some data interpretation.
• The candidate will be working in a small team environment interfacing with partners across the discovery organization to schedule and complete activities in a timely manner.
• The candidate should demonstrate good laboratory skills and have some experience operating common analytical equipment (analytical balance, pH meter, spectrophotometer, HPLC).
• Good problem solving, communication and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
• Must possess diploma or degree at the Associate or Bachelor level and 1+ years’ experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.
