Job Title: Chemist I

Location: North Chicago, IL

Duration: 12 months

Pay Range: $20 - $23/hr.

Description:

• Prior experience working in an industrial lab, preferably analytical, with prior responsibilities related to stocking of supplies and management of materials is desired.
• Prior experience with chromatographic techniques (e.g. HPLC or GC) or wet chemistry techniques (e.g. KF, pH measurement) and / or some understanding of general analytical topics is highly preferred.
• Entry level skill with minimally a High School education or GED is desired. A BS in Chemistry or related degree is highly desired.
• Also, looking for someone who is a strong communicator, team player, curious (eager to learn), and innovative (recognizes problems and suggests solutions).

What hours and day will this person be working?

• Hours: ~ 8 am to 5 pm . . . start and stop time is flexible however classical “1st shift” hours.
• Day: M – F (occasional need to work Saturday / Sunday . . . maybe once a month).

• Bachelors degree in chemistry or allied field or experience working in an industrial analytical laboratory

What is the environment that this person will be working in (i.e. group setting vs individual role)?

• Individual role (lab servicer) and Project contributor (group setting)

Is any testing required for this role?

• Yes, would like to train the individual to perform chromatography or wet chemistry (e.g. KF, pH, etc.) when there is a need.

Does this position offer the ability to work remotely on a regular basis or is it an on-site role? If remote opportunity exists, what are the options (i.e. 1 day remote, 4 day on-site)?

• On-site role only
