Job Title: Commodity and Sourcing Manager

Job Location: Redmond, WA 98052

Job Duration: 6 Months Contract

Pay Rate: $54/hr to $55/hr

Mission:

Coordination and completion of sourcing projects related to mechanical components for client Aerospace Project.
Oversees all aspects of sourcing projects including identification of vendors/sources, setting deliverable deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of deliverables.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Supplier maintenance and management *
Contract negotiation *
Identifying vendors
Sourcing projects
Setting deliverable deadline
HC 1: working on motion products like air bearings (potential to grow into optics)
HC 2: working on harnesses (potential to grow into optics)
Responsible for the coordination and completion of sourcing projects related to mechanical components for Project Kuiper.
Oversees all aspects of sourcing projects including identification of vendors / sources, setting deliverable deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of deliverables.
Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of projects as needed.
May require a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks.
Leads and collaborates with others.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Must Haves:

Be a self-starter, not need much direction.
Experience with contract management (Drafting, redlining, etc)
Experience within supply chain
An experienced buyer/tactical procurement person could work (if they have good contract management skills)
Ordering/purchasing experience.
Some mechanical background or aptitude for mechanics

Note:

The current team has a lot of technical knowledge and experience, and while that’s important for this role, she needs someone whose stronger in contract negotiation and management

They manufacture a wide array of critical finished products such as: Engines, control systems, landing gear, braking systems, flight deck, avionics, aero-structures, electronic warfare systems and interior cabin products.
Tier 1 companies are the drivers of the supply chain and are responsible for ensuring the entire operation is managed effectively and efficiently, following all required government guidelines. They serve as the pull-through of supply as the whole network.
