Title: Principal Cloud Engineer

Location: Hybrid 2x in office at Washington, DC 20591

Duration: 6 months Contract to Hire

Notes: Public Trust Clearance might be required

Required Qualifications:

• 10 -12+ years experience in information technology with 8+ years of recent hands-on experience deploying/configuring workloads within AWS OR Azure
• Experience designing and implementing cloud architectures
• Extensive experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) including CloudFormation and Terraform
• Good understanding of DevOps best practices and experience working with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Artifactory
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters
• Strong experience troubleshooting enterprise computing and operating systems such as Linux and Windows
• Experience documenting requirements, user stories, and use cases
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
• Professional Architect Certification in AWS OR Azure

Job Role Specific Requirements:

• Producing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or Configuration as Code (CaC), delivering solutions with a code first approach with sufficient comments and structure
• Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
• Diagnosing and resolving complex performance, security, and/or technical challenges
• Supporting all tiers of applications deployed in the cloud, configuring network, cloud native services, infrastructure, and privileges for development teams
• Identifying opportunities for optimizing cloud consumption by the agency and providing strategic direction for addressing those opportunities
• Creating/updating cloud environment configurations to establish/support application workloads, including
  • o Azure Focused: Configuration of Subscriptions, Resource Groups, VNets, Subnets, load balancers, App Services, Azure Batch, Virtual Machines, resource tagging, billing, policy implementation, and security controls
  • o AWS Focused: Configuration of AWS Accounts, IAM Users and Roles, VPCs, subnets, load balancers, Network routes, Transit Gateway, Control Tower, Systems Manager, Config Manager, stack sets, WAF, CloudFront, and Route53
