Title - Data Centre Technician

Location - McLean, VA - 22101 (Hybrid)

Duration - 6 Months (Possibility Extension / Conversion)

About the Role:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in installing software in data centers, troubleshooting cabling and connection issues, and hands-on experience in installing gear in installation centers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain the data center network infrastructure for high availability and performance.
  • Test, implement, and configure various Gigamon TAPs and devices, including hardware and software upgrades.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand networking requirements and provide effective solutions.
  • Attend project touch-point calls and provide project deployment and completion status updates.
  • Conduct connectivity testing when adding or replacing Gigamon TAPs and infrastructure cabling.
  • Prepare sites by staging, "Rack and Stack", configuring, and preparing products.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to resolve incidents promptly.
  • Participate in capacity planning, network security, and disaster recovery strategies and document relevant SOPs/Visio for network repositories.

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of relevant experience working in a data center environment.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on Gigamon software and hardware.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment from Gigamon.
  • Understanding of routing protocols and switching protocols (BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, Spine-Leaf topology).
  • Knowledge of router/switch hardware, including troubleshooting skills and component replacement.
  • Strong network troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues in data center networks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
