About the Role:

  • The Senior Category Manager is responsible for leading, defining, eveloping, and executing the complex sourcing program for key spend categories to achieve cost savings and support objectives of strategic importance to business unit customers, supply chain, and the enterprise.
  • The role collaborates with internal customers, suppliers, and supply chain teams to deliver value-added outcomes, procurine best evaluated total cost of ownership while assuring quality and schedule compliance.
  • Manages a significant annual managed-spend across respective categories.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct spend and market analysis to understand key market forces and mitigate business risks associated with suppliers or contracts.
  • Lead the process from specification/definition of need through contract administration.
  • Develop thorough sourcing strategies based on spend and market analyses.
  • Foster high levels of competition to deliver improved performance at reduced costs.
  • Collaborate to develop negotiation strategies and company positions on highly complex contracts.
  • Identify new sources of supply, potential new products/technologies, and exhibit cradle-to-grave ownership for each assigned category.
  • Initiate "leading practices" within strategic procurement to achieve a high level of process excellence.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers/partners based on ethical business practices. 

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and category management.
    Strong analytical skills for market and financial analysis.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to develop negotiation strategies. 
  • Knowledge of supply chain models and procurement processes.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and ability to stay abreast of industry innovations.
