Job Title: PCB Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA 98052
Duration: 11 Months (Contract to hire)
Pay Rate: $70/hr to $72/hr

Job Description:

  • PCB: The raw, unpopulated board with the circuit layout but without components.
  • PCBA: The completed assembly with all electronic components mounted, ready for use in electronic devices.

Details:

  • Extension/Conversion: Possible next year, contingent on headcount increases.
  • Travel: Up to 50% travel to Taiwan and Korea.
  • Reason for Opening: Additional support needed for the PCB teams, particularly for supplier visits and engineering issue resolution.
  • Mission: Assist PCB manufacturing teams to ensure successful PCB production.

Responsibilities:

Design for Manufacturing (DFM):

  • Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing.
  • Check correct spacing and design aspects.
  • Participate in design processes.

Root-Cause Analysis and Troubleshooting:

  • Identify and resolve issues in PCBs and the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement corrections.

Supplier Qualification:

  • Provide feedback to sourcing managers, quality teams, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with other teams and work directly with suppliers.

Travel Requirements:

  • Visit suppliers in Taiwan and Korea as part of a team.
  • Up to 50% travel.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a PCB engineer, designer, or layout specialist with extensive PCB knowledge.
  • Expertise in PCB manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with complex PCBs.
  • Familiarity with key terms such as Micro VIA and DFMA (Design for Manufacturability).
  • Experience working with suppliers.
  • Managed PCB fabrications throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Proficient in TPM tools (Microsoft Office, EFM tools, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience in PCB manufacturing companies.
  • Strong communication skills.

Interview Process:

  • Total of 3 rounds:
  • Initial interview with the hiring manager.
  • Two additional interviews with team members.
