Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in industrial automation, including Inductive Automation Ignition Perspective, Canary Labs, MQTT, Sparkplug B, and networking protocols. Additionally, proficiency in PLC programming and a passion for mentoring junior personnel are essential for this role.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement advanced automation systems using Inductive Automation Ignition Perspective.
  • Integrate and manage data collection systems using Canary Labs Historian with knowledge including OPC/UA, MQTT, .NET, web API’s, and SQL Databases
  • Configure and troubleshoot various networking protocols to ensure seamless connectivity and data flow to include Ethernet TCP, Modbus, Modbus TCP, et al.
  • Understanding of PLC programming design/architecture
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automation solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Conduct system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in automation technologies.
  • Work with business/product owners to architect and deliver on new services to introduce new products and bundles
  • Drive the architectural design, including dependent services, service interactions, and policies
  • Take ownership to improve the customer experience of the entire set of services/applications including the troubleshooting of corporate and local site SCADA platforms
  • Contribute and lead initiatives by engaging and mentoring Engineers at all levels to improve the craftmanship of Software Engineering
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Inductive Automation Ignition Perspective.
  • Strong knowledge of Canary Labs Historian
  • Understand at least two of the following: C#, C++, Java, Python and a subject matter expert in at least one.
  • Proficiency in the design/architecture and programming of SQL databases
  • Proficiency in web based development and systems programming
  • Proficiency in commonly used industrial communications hardware including Ethernet, RS-232, and RS-485
  • Proficiency in commonly used industrial protocols including Modbus, CIP, OPC-UA, and TCP/IP
  • Expertise in PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior personnel.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
