Job Title: Level 2 MAPS Risk Analyst - Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC)

Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: Second Shift (1 PM to 9 PM CT)

Job Overview:
The Level 2 MAPS Risk Analyst will be responsible for providing technical and operational support to the Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) Risk within the Markets Line of Business (LOB). Working in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment, this role focuses on incident management, technical support, change management, and collaboration with global teams to ensure smooth trading operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Support & Incident Management:

  • Respond to incidents, service requests, and handle change management tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Quickly address issues to prevent disruption to trading operations.
  • Balance multiple concurrent tasks, prioritizing incidents based on impact and urgency.

Change Management:

  • Lead daily technical change management meetings with global teams, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Manage system changes, updates, and releases in line with industry standards and internal procedures.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to Change Management guidelines.

Report Generation:

  • Prepare and analyze reports using tools such as Tableau and MS Office.
  • Visualize data related to risk management, change requests, incidents, or trading metrics to aid in decision-making.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Coordinate with global teams, explaining technical issues and navigating them through the change process.
  • Collaborate on restoring services during high-impact incidents, maintaining calm and clear communication.

Continuous Improvement & Expertise:

  • Proactively develop expertise in new areas, driving both self-improvement and process enhancements within the team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process optimization.

Core Skills & Qualifications:

Problem-Solving & Analytical Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and prioritization skills to assess the impact of issues and determine effective resolutions.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems using a combination of experience and diverse knowledge.

Technical Change Management:

  • Proven experience leading technical change meetings, managing system changes, updates, or releases while adhering to procedures.

Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC):

  • Solid understanding of the SDLC process to identify and manage changes impacting trading operations.

Technical Skills:

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Solaris, Linux, and Windows.
  • Scripting Languages: Expertise in Unix Shell, Perl, Python, and SQL (including complex queries involving joins and grouping).
  • Grid Computing and Batch Management: Experience managing compute grids and batch processes for risk-related jobs.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure disciplines such as network, server, storage, and messaging technologies.
