Title: Senior Derivative Accountant
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: Fulltime
 
Day-to-Day:
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and hedge accounting journal entries, ensuring clerical accuracy and appropriate support documentation.
  • Assist with meeting monthly close deadlines and related reporting deliverables as assigned, including quarterly and year-end financial disclosures and internal management reporting consumed by the executive management team.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and risk system forward book analysis, including analysis of market area variances (price/volume and trend analysis) and other internal reporting metrics.

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a relevant accounting or finance role is preferred
  • Commodities, transactions, trade accounting
  • Derivatives from an industry perspective - oil and gas, power, utilities 
  • Experience with P&L, market-market 
  • High aptitude for data proficiency - excel and data analytics tools
