• Duties:
• Senior UI/UX Designer (Web)

As part of the UX Design Team, you’ll:

• Lead creative direction and UX strategy within a collaborative environment.
• Simplify complex requirements into elegant design solutions.
• Produce key art and iterate from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes.
• Showcase exceptional web design skills and proficiency in tools like Photoshop and Illustrator.
• You will also contribute to maintaining and expanding design patterns while ensuring alignment with the Western Digital brand and platform-specific guidelines. A strong focus will be on collaboration with UX researchers, engineers, and stakeholders to create an optimal user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with designers, engineers, copywriters, and other functions to make innovative design decisions.
• Expand, document, and create new patterns within the design system.
• Communicate page flows, animations, and other interactive elements effectively to stakeholders and engineers.
• Collaborate with UX researchers for real-user testing.
• Infuse Western Digital’s brand identity into all digital communications, including email campaigns and seasonal/evergreen content.
• Ensure high-quality design execution and alignment with engineering specifications.
• Present and defend creative vision, concepts, and designs to leadership, stakeholders, and peers.

Required Skills:

• A creative background that bridges visual design, UI design, and UX engineering.
• Proficiency in front-end languages and frameworks like HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Expertise in responsive web design ensuring optimal user experience across various devices.
• Skilled in JIRA for project management.
• Expert in creating mock-ups, interactive prototypes, and components using Adobe XD and Figma.
• Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with Material Design patterns.
• Proficiency in photo retouching and editing.
• Understanding of WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines.
• Familiarity with atomic design methodologies.
• Experience in video and motion graphics software like After Effects and Premiere is a plus.
• Experience using AI to streamline design processes is a plus.
• Passionate about improving user experience with a focus on usability and user-centered design principles.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Design.
• Previous experience in a corporate environment or design firm with eCommerce expertise.

Certifications & Licenses:

• Proficiency in designing for responsive web environments.
