Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Create, deploy, and maintain scalable machine learning models in production environments.
  • Address core research engineering challenges such as the design, implementation, and scaling of machine learning algorithms.
  • Work closely with research scientists, computational biologists, and data engineers to solve complex problems and ensure models meet project objectives.
  • Develop solutions that allow stakeholders to interact with and analyze multimodal datasets, including genetics, genomics, imaging, and clinical data.
  • Use best practices in software engineering to ensure solutions are scalable and reusable.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration while driving technical excellence in machine learning and data science.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field is required (Graduate degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience developing and applying machine learning models in an industry setting.
  • Demonstrated success in deploying models and working in various computing environments, including HPC and AWS.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with Weights and Biases.
  • Strong familiarity with MLOps workflows, including code version control, high-performance compute infrastructures, and machine learning experiment monitoring.
  • Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries like JAX, PyTorch, PyTorch Lightning, and TensorFlow.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, probabilistic modeling, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience collaborating with external partners, such as academic institutions or industry research groups.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to staying current with advancements in machine learning.
