Job Title: Data Center Technician I (30 openings)

Job Location: Florence, KY 41042

Job Duration: 4-month assignment with potential for full-time conversion (within 90 days)

Pay Range: $25.39/Hr - $26.39/Hr

Shift: 1st shift (8 AM to 4:30 PM EST) or 2nd shift (5 PM to 1:30 AM EST)

Job Description:

Day-to-day tasks:

  • It involves sorting components like AP cards and GPUs that can become defective due to heat.
  • Their responsibilities will include:
  • Sorting: Inspecting, evaluating, and sorting components from boards or pallets.
  • Preparation and receiving: Preparing parts for testing, conducting basic repairs, and handling pass/fail criteria.
  • Disposal or recycling: If parts fail testing, they'll be destroyed or shredded. If they pass, they'll be shipped for reuse or other recovery.

Requirements:

  • Experience with hardware
  • IT background (any type)
  • Familiarity with computer components and cybersecurity
  • MS Office proficiency (Excel for data entry, Outlook; PowerPoint not required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience (open to junior candidates with a positive attitude and willingness to learn)
  • IT support experience with computer hardware components
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Alignment with client Leadership Principles (customer obsession, ownership, bias for action, earn trust)

Role responsibilities:

  • As a Data Center Technician, the temps will be a primary problem solver for your support team, adept at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues.
  • They will create and maintain documentation, share knowledge with junior staff, and possess basic to intermediate system administration skills.
  • Automation and remote system administration tasks will also be part of your responsibilities.
  • The temps will work independently to resolve most support issues, manage small projects, and collaborate with your manager on larger initiatives.
  • They will serve as the initial escalation point for junior technicians, have a deep understanding of the equipment you support, and demonstrate innovation, decision-making, and the ability to follow directions.

Team:

  • You'll be part of the reverse logistics hub team, which supports the data center.
  • Hiring Manager joined this team six weeks ago, and they recently hired a batch of 18 temporary employees. The team is growing this year.

Site and role overview:

  • The site is a reverse logistics hub for decommissioned data center equipment.
  • They process, inspect, evaluate, and test parts before sending them to the most appropriate recovery path.
  • This includes reuse, integration into new equipment, or liquidation/recycling.
  • While it's a transactional role, they emphasize quality over quantity.
