Title: Postgres SQL Database Administrator

Location: Richmond, VA, Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA (Hybrid 3 day onsite, 2 day remote)

Duration: 12 months

Day to day:

• A typical day for a PostgreSQL Database Administrator involves monitoring database performance.
• Managing user accounts.
• Backing up and restoring databases and performing maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshooting issues.
• Implementing security measures.
• Staying updated on PostgreSQL.
• Collaborating with development teams.

Must haves:

• 5+ experience in PostGreSQL Database Administration.
• Database Administration - must be skilled at monitoring and maintaining databases.  
• Able to optimize the performance of the database, ensure smooth functioning, and monitor its security.
• Security - must have the necessary skills to maintain the security of the database.
• They should know how to manage access and monitor the database for security breaches.
• Backup – skilled at maintaining regular database backups.
• Performance Tuning – experience with database performance tuning.
• Data Modelling - Data modeling skill, to be able to create a visual representation of the database and optimize it for usage.
• Linux/Unix Server Administration
• Working knowledge of Active Directory
