Title: Postgres SQL Database Administrator

Location: Richmond, VA, Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA (Hybrid 3 day onsite, 2 day remote)

Duration: 12 months

Day to day:

A typical day for a PostgreSQL Database Administrator involves monitoring database performance, managing user accounts, backing up and restoring databases, performing maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, implementing security measures, staying updated on PostgreSQL, and collaborating with development teams.

Must haves:

• 5+ experience in PostGreSQL Database Administration.
• Database Administration - must be skilled at monitoring and maintaining databases.  
• Able to optimize the performance of the database, ensure smooth functioning, and monitor its security.
• Security - must have the necessary skills to maintain the security of the database.
• They should know how to manage access and monitor the database for security breaches.
• Backup – skilled at maintaining regular database backups.
• Performance Tuning – experience with database performance tuning.
• Data Modelling - Data modeling skill, to be able to create a visual representation of the database and optimize it for usage.
• Linux/Unix Server Administration
• Working knowledge of Active Directory
