About the Role:

• We are looking for a Patient Services Specialist to join our team.
• The main responsibility of this role is to professionally handle incoming calls and electronic requests from patients, family members, and external parties.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for registering new patients, scheduling healthcare appointments, answering questions, handling complaints, troubleshooting problems, and providing information on behalf of the institution.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely registration of new patients
• Verify insurance coverage or determine patient self-pay responsibility
• Schedule healthcare appointments based on need and clinic guidelines
• Communicate appointment details, necessary preparation, paperwork, and payment information
• Write patient-related messages and identify emergent patient situations for immediate triage
• Calm upset callers and escalate priority issues for resolution

Required Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong data entry, numeric, typing, and computer navigational skills
• Experience in a call center, customer service, and/or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
• Ability to quickly assess requests and respond accurately to customers
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
• Prior customer service experience is strongly preferred
