Job Description
Job Title:  Data Center Technician
Location: Baie D'Urfe/ Lasaille and Pointe-Claire / Varenne  - (may rotate between sites)
Duration: 9-month contract - possibility of extension
 
Day to day what are the responsibilities? 
  •  Responding to high-severity events within SLAs
  •  Troubleshooting hardware and software i.e. maintenance on break  fix activity, motherboard, hard drive, memory , power shelfs (PSU/ power supplies) maintain and replace hardware
  • Break-fix of servers and network devices
  • Troubleshooting of network connections
  • Coordinating and building relationships with various Data Center teams
  • Interact with third party vendors & contractors
  • Seeking out ways to improve yourself and the processes and systems with which you work
  • Contribute to the development of other team members 
 
Must-haves/key skills needed - 
  • Need a car to go between sites * 
  • Ability to get Reliability status (basic level of government clearance) - i.e. should be within Canada for 5 years and have ability to get clearance in order to convert to FTE 
  • 1 - 3 years (Hardware networking skills/ entry level)
  • Hardware - maintenance on break fix activity, motherboard, hard drive, memory , power shelfs (PSU/ power supplies) maintain and replace hardware
  • Software - Windows (Linux is a plus)
  • Bilingual - French understanding and communicate
  • Good written and oral skills (must be able to follow workflows)
  • Thinking aoutside of the box to troubleshoot a situation
  • Open to weekends/ rotational shifts
 
Should be able to push a rack into position (max 40lbs)
